Atoms Crowd (3.8.0) embraces USD as new I/O format
3/12/2020
USD is now fully integrated within Atoms Crowd.
The new integration includes:
• exporters for animation, skeleton and meshes from the supported DCCs
• loaders for skeletons, animations and meshes
• a C++ USD cache exporter
• USD cache reader module allowing users to bring back crowd caches and modify them
This integration is the result of a close collaboration between Toolchefs and Luma Pictures.
"With the ability to read and write USD, Atoms now lets us leverage the full power of USD composition within our crowd assets and then view the final sims in any application that supports USD." Chad Dombrova, Head of Software
"We are very excited about this new integration and we want to thank the team at Luma pictures for the great help they have provided on this." Daniele Federico, Toolchefs CEO
